This week we have started buddy reading with our buddy class- room9!
We read to our buddies and they helped us read tricky words.
We could practice our reading at home by reading with our older siblings or parents!
We are Year 2 learners at Ruapotaka School in Room 5 and our teacher is Miss Min! Look around our blog to see what we did at school!

What floats and what sinks?
Today's big question was 'what floats and what sinks?'
We predicted that toy cow, scissors, block, and the spoon will sink in the water
and we predicted that counter, stick, and a tennis ball will float.
Through this experiment, we found out that scissors and spoon sink in the water.
And toy cow, stick, block, counter, and tennis ball floats on the water.
Today we learnt that these objects float because they are light or have air in them. But spoons and scissors don't!
There is air in our body too and this is why we can be awesome swimmers!

Autumn -writing
It finally feels like Autumn and we can find lots of autumn leaves falling from the trees. Thanks to Mrs. Pederson, we didn't have to walk outside to look for some autumn leaves in the rain.
We saw a variety of leaves and discussed about what it looks like, what it feel like, and what it sounds like.

Here are some of our stories about Autumn!
